In February, the eclectic London home that Freddie Mercury designed to fit his eccentric lifestyle hit the market for offers over £30 million (US$38 million).
Garden Lodge, in the capital’s posh Kensington, was Mercury’s much-loved home from 1980 until his death in 1991, at which point the Queen frontman’s residence and everything in it was bequeathed to his one-time fianceé and close friend, Mary Austin.
The home has a double-height drawing room with a wraparound gallery that serves as a library and bar overlooking the room and Mercury’s grand piano, below. There’s also the Japanese room, a sitting room that leads out to the home’s Japanese-style garden, which Mercury helped to create, complete with magnolia trees, topiary and water features.

Former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman John Fogerty listed his celebrity-pedigreed equestrian estate in Los Angeles for $21.5 million. But the rocker hadn’t owned the 10,460-square-foot house in the guard-gated community of Hidden Hills for long before putting it on the market. He purchased it from actor Sylvester Stallone in October 2023 for $17.2 million.
Set at the end of a long driveway, the five-bedroom main residence has a grand two-story entry, a theater room, a library, a massage room and a family room, which leads to a covered patio.
Ideal for equestrian enthusiasts, amenities at the property comprise a four-stall barn, a tack room and a professional-sized private riding arena.

After months of rumors about their impending split, and whispers that the former were quietly shopping the home around, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck officially put their massive Los Angeles mansion on the market for $68 million in July.
The roughly 5-acre property—which is in a gated community and spans a massive 38,000 square feet—includes an indoor sports court with an adjacent gym and games room. Built in 2000, the house has 12 bedrooms and a whopping 24 bathrooms. The resort-sized property has the amenities to match, including a V-shaped pool with views over the surrounding hills, a detached two-bedroom guardhouse and a 5,000-square-foot guest penthouse.
Later that same month, Affleck dropped $20.5 million on an equestrian estate in Los Angeles.

A rooftop deck, al fresco dining area, outdoor kitchen and floor-to-ceiling windows blend the indoor and outdoor spaces, while sabal palm trees shroud the windows for privacy. There’s also a razor-edge infinity pool and 124 feet of water frontage.

Two years after buying Paul Simon and Edie Brickell’s New Canaan, Connecticut, property, Richard Gere and his wife, Spanish publicist Alejandra Silva, sold the home in a seemingly off-market deal for $10.75 million.
Gere had paid Simon and Brickell $10.8 million for the 31.8-acre property, so the sale was a slight loss for him. The English country-style property has two homes—a five-bedroom main house built in 1938 by Harold R. Sleeper and a three-bedroom cottage, according to the listing from 2022.
Outdoor amenities include terraced patios, a pool and perennial gardens. The property also has woodland trails, a rock-rimmed brook, a natural pond and a waterfall.
